Tell us about your business How did you start Elm, what do you love most about what you do? After working in magazines for 12 years in Sydney, it felt like time for a change after my son Ed was born. I have always aspired to the idea that I would like to start my own business, it had to be something that was design focussed and I’ve always been obsessed with stationery. I’ve just finished designing next seasons range, and this is the part that I love and enjoy the most. Its also great to have the flexibility around work hours with Ed.
We know what we love about Elm but what do you love about Paper Runway? Paper Runway showcases the best in what’s happening with paper and creative people, its fantastic to see this unique publication created/produced in Australia.
What is your favourite paper product right now. The weekend papers, I love to sit down for a read, but it has become a bit of a luxury with a 14 month old around!
What place in the world most inspires you and why? Paris – the style/way of living & New York – the buzz.
If you could do a different job for a day what would it be and why? I wouldn’t mind being Sofia Coppola for a day, her life seems tres chic.
What is your favourite homemade gift to give? Making Christmas treats from Donna Hay books to give to family and friends (packaged of course in sweet paper bags and ribbon).
